Digital Economy

This module teaches that the digital economy is political (not neutral): shaped by platform ownership, algorithms, advertising systems, moderation policies, and data extraction, and deeply tied to dignity, equality, expression, labour rights, and narrative power. It grounds participants in ethical digital storytelling, content creation, accessibility, and community-led communication, while emphasising strict standards around consent, trauma-informed practice, privacy, representation, and community ownership.

It treats digital content as both a tool for advocacy and a community-owned asset, exploring how visibility, monetisation, analytics, and platform governance influence whose stories are heard and valued. Participants learn to build sustainable digital infrastructures through audience development, multilingual access, safety protocols, cooperative models, and diversified income streams, while strengthening intergenerational leadership roles in archiving knowledge, translating institutions, and innovating new formats for caste justice and social change.
