Intersectional Feminism & Leadership

Intersectional Feminism / Feminist Leadership

This module teaches intersectionality (as an analytic of overlapping power) and adapts it directly to caste, gender, religion, class, sexuality, disability, and migration status—making clear that caste is a structuring axis, not an “add-on.” It builds a rights and policy language that travels across forums (equality, non-discrimination, dignity, bodily autonomy, freedom of religion or belief, labour and social protection), and grounds learning in feminist traditions including Dalit, Indigenous, Black, and Muslim feminisms. It then maps core terrains leaders must navigate—gendered caste violence, migrant women workers’ layered vulnerability, and minority women’s political participation under quotas, digital abuse, and unpaid care burdens—insisting on disaggregated data, precise language, and survivor-centred practice. The module treats coalition-building, attribution and resource-sharing, language justice/accessibility, safety, care, and institutional literacy as practical leadership craft, with clear intergenerational roles and shared norms.
